Mongo apologizes again for blog not being live. Mongo got to get better at making it live. 

It be the weekend for birthdays. Friday, Mongo start off helping Tony of Shucking Bubba Deluxe celebrate his birthday. His band mate, Rikki, birthday be Sunday. Saturday, it be “Z” drummer in Billy Carri band 21st birthday. You’d think that’d be enough, but NOOOO! Monday be Keith Miller of Karma 10 40th birthday.

Jimmy call Mongo ask him to pick up Sugar Free Red Bull for him and OJ for Karen. While talking to Mongo, trailer be bad and go sideways on Jimmy. It be at 70/71 split. Mongo tink trailer wanted to go up 71 to go by beer plant. It dream of being Budweiser trailer.

Mongo pick up stuff for Jimmy & go with Mrs. Mongo to the Stockyard in Marysville. It be in old railroad stockyard building. Yep, Marysville be cowtown before being grass town (Scott’s seed, not wacky weed) or Honda town. Stockyard be nice steakhouse & saloon. No smell like stockyard. They have big room probably as big as bar for us to store gear in. It have no lights and no heat. They have lock on it because it near restrooms. Mongo figger drunk patron go in wrong door and get lost for days in there. Oh yeah, they have yummy food to eat, too,

Billy Carri braved the freezing rain/sleet/snow mixture during long trip from Cincinnati. That not all Billy brave. Billy be brave and be fighting flu bug. Mongo help them “carri” in. Billy glad to have help. Mongo help drummer with set-up. He say name is “Z”. Mongo say if Mongo remember right it be “Z” birthday. Mongo see on internet. “Z” give dirty look at Billy and say somebody’s goona pay. Mongo say it no Billy, but Karma 10 that posted on Internet.

Karma 10 start arriving and put gear by tables at side of stage. Bar lady come up to Mongo and ask for gear to be moved because tables reserved. Mongo wonder why gear there so Mongo take to room. Keith loading in about that time. Mongo say to follow. Keith say amps OK, but no want guitars in cold room. Apparently, guitars get mad and no play hot licks after getting cold. Mongo gots lots to learn about music biz. Mongo was getting second load when Jimmy ask what up. Jimmy say he confused cause manager tell him band gear could go by tables. We trying to figger out what to do when we hear tables reservcd for Keith’s wife, so some stuff can stay.

Mongo go get Jack & Coke to get right feeling to run lights. Crazy girl bats eyelashes at Mongo and say, “What are you drinking?” Mongo say Jack & Coke as soon as he gets one. Crazy girl say “Coke?!?” Mongo say “No, JACK & Coke.” That make more sense to crazy girl. Mongo notice crazy girl’s friend have jacket with name of Darla on it. That same name as Mrs. Mongo. Mongo find out later crazy girl’s name is Lee (Leigh ?). No, it not girl Mongo live with right before marrying Mrs. Mongo. That Lee was Mongo’s friend’s girlfriend, not Mongo’s. Crazy girl and Mongo make silly faces at each other all night long. Mongo have fun watching Lee & Darla have crazy fun all night.

Billy Carri and band kick off show. Billy doing best to sing. Guitar player Justin has guitar singing to help out. He help on vocals, too. Bass player Shane was helping on vocals, too. “Z” was trying to beat flu bag out of Billy with the beat. They play mostly originals. It good stuff, but Mongo hopes to catch them again when they up to full force. Flu bug had been making the rounds with the band like a sex straved groupie. Billy announces to crowd it be “Z” birthday. Billy say he will get “Z” drunk if he has to spend every last dime.. of the crowd’s money. Mongo laff at that.

Flu bug finally gets best of Billy. Billy apologizes to Karma 10 and crowd cause he got to call it a night. Mongo rub his shoulders and tell Billy that Billy gave valiant effort. Mongo say check ‘em out at www.myspace.com/billycarri

Mongo go up and switch out bands since Karma 10 up next. After Mongo done, Karen ask Mongo to rub back. Karen back be bad and cause much pain. She only there because Keith ask Karen to mix “Zoe” for his birthday. Judi of “Showaboobie” tribe tell Karen she lucky to have Mongo massage. Both say they love having Mongo around. Make Mongo feel good. Mongo ask Karen who Judi be with band. Karen say that Keith’s wife. Mongo tell Karen joke on Mongo because Judi one Mongo try to get in trouble for grabbing Chris’ (it was actually Keith’s) butt at Thursday Rock Live. Karen & Mongo laff at Mongo for trying to get Mrs. Keith in trouble for grabbing Keith’s butt.

Karma 10 start playing. They seem to be playing with extra zeal tonight. Mongo notice Marty having good time behind drums. Mongo glad roof stopped leaking near drums. Mongo had told Jimmy to call Marty and tell him not to take shower because there was was light spray behind drum area. Mongo do lights standing for Karma 10. Lights be good for Mongo if he up dancing to Karma 10. A few songs into set Judi and tribe bring cake with candles up for Keith. No sprinklers no go off. Everyone sing Happy Birthday. Crazy girl Lee come up & whisper in Keith’s ear. Keith say, “Is Darla out there?” Of course, Mrs. Mongo raise hand & wonder what up. Then Keith say it’s Darla’s birthday. Darla, who be crazy girl’s friend. They intro “Zoe” and dedicate to Karen. Karen no where to be found. Maybe it be Jack playing tricks on Mongo, but Mongo thought Keith say it dedicated to Mongo, too. They play “Zoe”. Karen suddenly beside Mongo. Karen and gone to truck to rest back. Heard “Zoe” and come in. Mongo & Karen get to sing “Zoe” together.

Karma 10 play & play. Jimmy & Mongo wonder if they ever going to take break. Finally they do. Mongo go around and say hi to all the Karma 10 faithful. Angie, Keith’s sister. Mongo get to meet her husband Dave & sister Dodie. Michelle & Brian. Brenda, Linda & Jason. Janetta. Many more Mongo sure he forgetting.

They get up to start second set. Keith announce it be last time with that Karma 10 line-up. New member to be added at Alrosa Villa. Maybe Rock-n-Roll Reverand have to bless union. They play & play more. Finally, they play so much they have to repeat songs. They play “Zoe” and Karen get to mix this time. Then they play “Upside Down” again. Michelle come back to sing with Mongo. Mongo not sure how he do special “Upside Down” dance with her beside him since he usually to upside down going to right. Mongo just go to left. Duh!

Mongo go up to take pictures. “Showaboobie” tribe member stop Mongo to show picture on her phone. When they said they were the “Showaboobie” tribe that not quite how Mongo pictured it, but OK. Mongo was bent down taking picture when girl smack Mongo’s butt. It be girl in phone picture. Mongo give girl hug to show her Mongo no mad. Mongo twirl round with her and she wraps her legs around Mongo. Mongo see Mrs. Mongo giving Mongo evil eye. Must have been like Mongo’s birthday dance Mongo no remember. Mongo put girl down. Jason smiles at Mongo and we laff together at it. Mongo switches between running lights and taking picture. Billy come up to tell Jimmy “Z” passed out from birthday celebration.

Mongo on floor when Keith gave himself a birthday present and make big Karma 10 announcement early. Mongo was only feet from band when new member initiated in sacred ceremony. Mongo would tell you more, but Mongo in awe of sacred ceremony and no will divulge secrets.

Show ends with last song being first song of newly initiated member.

Mongo was up taking microphones off drums when phone picture girl smacks Mongo again. Mongo wait for his prey. Little does she know Mongo have much practice when Mongo Jr & Princess Mongo be bad (they take after their daddy when the do that). Since Mongo a pop, Mongo know the secret of making a loud pop when do smack. Mongo got his prey good.

Little bit later her friend says she recognize Mongo from MongoSpace. Her name is Strawberry Whorecake. Mongo can hardly believe ears. Of all the names on MySpace, that be who Mongo wanted to meet. Mongo think that really inventive name. Mongo pick up and swing Strawberry Whorecake. Fortunately, she no wrap legs and get Mrs. Mongo mad.

It were a fun night, but leave Mongo with one question. Who feels worse this morning? Billy, Karen, or “Z”?
