Signal - a Wednesday Night Bike Night
April 18th, 2007Yes folks it is a Wednesday and Mongo’s loose. New band for Mongo called Signal. Mongo get to Quaker Steak and Lube before Jimmy. Even band there, so Mongo go up and introduce himself. Band and Mongo hit it off real good. Dey good guys. Jimmy cruise in. He been dere done dat. He so smart. Got Quaker Steak and Lube down.
While we set up many purty Harleys come. Mongo wish Dana here. Mongo remember she like Harleys.
Signal start things off “Shakin”. It cool and not many drinks gone yet so no shakin going on yet. Lead singer, Bruce Arbaugh try to get people to clap in time to music to stay warm. It a little chilly, but sunny. Biker types no ready to clap yet. Now Steve Michael Smith us with his vocals to “Maggie May”. Steve do lots. He play keys, guitar, keys, & bass.
During set up drummer Marc Nawrocki show Mongo his toys. He got Butt Kicker to feel bass drum. He got mic toy that make drum go boom. Marc no know Jimmy drummer. Mongo waiting for Jimmy to crank it and Marc be now-rock-i-et into sky. He’ll be a “Shooting Star” which they play now.
Mongo no forget guitarist Stu Stull. He like all other bandmates sing, too. Mongo meet him first. He good guy.
Second set set just start. Sun goin down. Wind blow. Mongo get more Jack & Coke. Bruce try to get crowd hands together. Mongo help, but crowd no dunk enough yet. People look wierd at Mongo. Silly people. Mongo no care. Mongo having fun. Mongo used to weird looks.
Food come. Buckeye BBQ wings and Magna Loaded Fries. Mongo go now.
Mongo back. Second set over. Wing spicy & sweet like the said, but not as hot as dey threatened. Since whimpy wings, Mongo just put coat on. It getting chilly.
Third set just start. Jimmy not hear. Warning!! Mongo at the controls. It’ll be a “Live Wire”. No, not Mountain Dew Live Wire, which Mongo loves. Oh good, Jimmy back. He said he knew Mongo could handle since deese guys easy to mix. Mongo celebrate by dancing with one of the band’s girl. Mongo hope they no get mad.
Mongo must mention Bruce’s hat. It be tall top hat. It cool and go well with bass.
Well, it cold, dark. Harleys are leaving before rain hits. Band ending early. Mongo surprised Mongo though bikers were tougher than that. Well, band calling it a night. Smart move. Mongo catcha later
