Mongo’s Corner

Mongo of London

April 20th, 2007

It be big rock n roll weekend for Mongo. Friday London. Saturday Cleveland. Excitiement is growing here in London. Mongo be at Stinger’s for IronHorse show. Gaetano drummer for IronHorse sitting by me as last few DJ songs play on the very PC Mongo type on. Ain’t Technology cool?

Mongo ready to “Bring It On” that their first song. It be first IronHorse song Mongo ever hear. We be at gig and Jimmy or Karen say this be IronHorse. Mongo be waiting for IronHorse gig ever since.

Speaking of Karen she be in hospital. She also be in Mongo’s heart and prayers. Kidney being bad and be infected. Take care, Sweetheart.

Next they play “Train”. Make Mongo think of Mongo Jr who love trains. Mongo do something wrong cause he not thrilled with hard rock. When Mongo think of hard rock, Mongo tink of AC/DC. So must IronHorse because now they sing “Sin City”. After a few slower songs, the play “Born to Be Wild”. Then they take break. Nope, they have too much fun. Good ting Mongo slow on getting DJ music up. They decide to play “Running With the Devil”. One of Mongo’s favorite Van Halen songs. Dis time they decide to take break. Good thing. Glass of Mongo empty. Mongo tinks glasses of Mongo must evaporate too quickly. Something in the Jack & Red Bull mixture causes it to evaporate real fast.

Second set, they start things on “Fire”. New song IronHorse do. Mongo do lights to look like fire. Wonder if anyone notice. Mongo hope next song not come true at end of night. It be “I Can’t Find My Way Home”. Hey now they play the blues. Now the newest member Mike try to make his guitar be Lucille.

Third set start. Lead singer Charlie Wayne is going to “Change My Religion” to booty-ism.

Lead guitarist Matt Bradley has just launched into another of his scorching guitar solos on next song. Mongo no can remember song name. Must hop like bunny rabbit between lights & blog. Unfortunately, a couple time Mongo plod like elephant and fat arms hit light off buttons. Sorry IronHorse.

Next song sum up evening. It be “Another Day in Paradise”.

Bassist Geno Arce is now pkaying and sending love out to his lovely lady who be dancing in front of him.
